Sports have always been a part of my life. I started playing recreational soccer when I was about 7 years old. Then I started playing basketball and volleyball around 8 or 9. I played all three until I started playing Middle School sports in 7th grade. At that time I played soccer, volleyball, and basketball through 7th and 8th grades. When I got to High School I played volleyball, soccer and tennis. Tennis was a new sport for me in 9th grade. Playing volleyball, soccer, and tennis in High School gave me a sport to participate in year round.
I have four sisters, two are older and two are younger. I dual enrolled in Santa Fe College this year as a Junior. Prior to dual enrollment I was home educated. My first semester in college I maintained a 3.0 GPA while playing varsity volleyball. Our volleyball team was the only public school to make it to the "Elite 8" this season. Also during this time my mother was battling breast cancer. We found out she had cancer on Christmas Eve 2008. She had several surgeries and chemotherapy during 2009. This year she is going through breast reconstruction surgeries. The Lord has helped me and my family get through all of this.
I am a Christian. I enjoy singing with our church's youth praise team and participating in youth activities. I'm not sure what I want to study in college. I know that the Lord will show me what I need to do.
I would enjoy playing a sport while attending college. I look forward to the competition and finding a team that will be like "family".
